GREEN BAY, WI (WHBL) – Tim Schroyer of Sheboygan’s Pine Hills Country Club took 3rd place in the WPGA Professional Championship Tournament which was completed yesterday under windy conditions at the Green Bay Country Club.
The tournament was claimed by 47-year-old Mick Smith of the Moorland Road Country Club, who came off a 7-shot deficit after Monday’s 3-over-par round to top David Roesch of Storm’s Golf Range. Smith won the tournament by 1 stroke at 1-under par for the event.
Tim Schroyer, the 27-year-old instructor at Pine Hills, got his highlight with a hole-out for an eagle on the par-4 7th hole – considered the hardest on the course – to finish the two-round event with a score of 2-over-par 146.
The top 5 players qualified to play in the 2021 PGA Professional Championship at PGA Golf Club next April. The two final spots go to 4th place Mark Voeller of Golf Galaxy in Brookfield and 5th place finisher Thomas Burton of Hidden Glen. Schroyer also pocketed $2,220 for his accomplishment.
