Edward “Ed” Gilson, 73, of Plymouth, WI, went to Jesus loving arms on October 11, 2025 with his family by his side.
He was born on May 6, 1952 in Plymouth, WI, a son of the late John and Ovella (Lisowe) Gilson.
Ed attended Plymouth Schools. He worked at Kohler Company for 38 years before retiring in 2014. Ed also worked at Stemper Farm for over 20 years, where he loved tinkering on farm equipment.
On July 24, 2010, he married Diane Clark-Weis-Wachowiak, who he adored and called “my hunny”.
Ed enjoyed cracking a cold beer and spending time with his little buddy Cricket (dog), who he loved dearly. He also enjoyed fishing and lived for going on his yearly elk hunting trip to the High Country Colorado and always brought home the big one.
Survivors include his wife, Diane; four daughters, Tammy Gilson, Carrie Gilson (special friend Mark Dewitz), Tonya Gilson, and Kristy (Rick) Wright; step-children, Wade (Faye) Weis, Donna Baysinger and Troy (Araea) Wachowiak; grandchildren, Kristy, Lily, Cooper, and Brayden; sister, Mary Lou Kornetzke. Ed welcomed Diane’s 24 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. He leaves behind many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Joseph Gilson, brother, Al (Shirley) Gilson, and brother-in-law, Larry Kornetzke.
A Memorial Service will be held at Christian Life Church, 300 Rustic Street, Plymouth, WI, on Friday, October 24th at 2:00 PM. Following the service will be food and fellowship at the Church.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Ed’s name.
