A longtime alderman in the City of Manitowoc has passed away as the result of a traffic accident.. Jim Brey had served as District 4 Alderman since 1992. He eventually held the posts of Council President, Finance Committee Chair, Plan Commission member, and was recently appointed to Manitowoc County Treasurer. Brey had also served as a County Board Supervisor.
Brey Died just before 5 PM Tuesday when the vehicle he was driving crashed into a building in the area of South 26th and Franklin Street. No cause of the accident was released. Brey, the only occupant, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
