Trump says he may take over Washington, D.C., citing crime and safety reasons

WASHINGTON (Reuters) -President Donald Trump said he is considering taking greater control over Washington, D.C., citing concerns about public safety and high crime rates.

“We have a capital that’s very unsafe,” Trump told reporters. “We have to run D.C. This has to be the best-run place in the country.”
