A motorcyclist was killed in an accident involving a pickup truck in eastern Fond du Lac County on Tuesday. The Sheriff’s Office said it happened shortly before 4 PM yesterday about 2 miles southeast of Campbellsport at County Highway”V” and Auburn-Ashford Drive when the 18-year-old motorcyclist, southbound on “V”, struck the pickup truck that was proceeding east from a stop sign at the intersection.
Emergency responders found the man pulseless and not breathing, and despite life-saving efforts, he was pronounced deceased at the scene. The name of the 18-year-old from Campbellsport is being withheld pending notification of the family. The 32-year-old Campbellsport man driving the pickup truck was treated at the scene by paramedics and released. Officials say he is cooperating fully with the investigators, who have determined that speed of the motorcycle appears to be a factor in the crash. The accident closed Highway “V” for about four hours.
