(Reuters) – Rochester Police Chief La’Ron Singletary has announced plans to retire, the city’s mayor said on Tuesday, a move that comes amid growing scrutiny over the police department’s handling of the arrest and investigation into the death of Daniel Prude.
Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren disclosed Singletary’s retirement at a livestreamed city council meeting.
