Mary Ellen Sloan, 78, of Sheboygan, passed away Monday
evening, May 26, 2025 at Edenbrook Sheboygan where she had
been residing.
Born June 26, 1946 in Milwaukee, WI, Mary was the daughter
of the late James and Bernice Torke Sloan. She attended
Plymouth area schools and graduated from Plymouth High School
in 1964. She continued her education at Northland College in
Ashland, WI receiving her Bachelor's degree in Education in
1968. On April 3, 1971, she was united in marriage to James B.
Fine at the First Reformed United Church of Christ in Manitowoc,
WI.
Mary was an elementary school teacher in Plymouth for many
years. She previously taught in Manitowoc and was an early
childhood daycare provider. She served as a house mother for the
Alpha Delta Phi Fraternity at U.W. Madison and was a former
member of Divine Savior Church in Madison. She enjoyed
attending dog friendly church in Sheboygan.
She is survived by her two sons, Brendan (Christy) Fine, New
London, and Colin (Rebecca) Fine, Madison; her grandchildren;
other relatives and friends.
Besides her parents, James and Bernice, she was preceded in
death by her brother, David J. Sloan, and her step-mother,
Georgine Sloan.
According to her wishes, there will be no services or visitation.
Inurnment will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery in Plymouth, WI.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of
Edenbrook and the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for
all of their loving care and support.
The Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service has been
entrusted with Mary's arrangements.
