Ozaukee County has referred charges to the District Attorney’s Office while the subject of a days-long tactical response awaits a hearing in jail.
37-year-old Matthew Novak was identified as the person who barricaded himself within a home on Fox Glen Road in the Village of Fredonia from Thursday, May 8th through Saturday, May 10th. Novak was eventually removed from the residence without serious harm, taken to the behavioral mental health facility by the Ozaukee County Sheriff’s Office and subsequently jailed after release from observation.

He now faces charges of Battery or Threat to a Law Enforcement Officer, Endangering Safety by Use of a Dangerous Weapon, First Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, and Failure to Comply with Law Enforcement Officers’ attempts to take him into custody.
