(WHBL) – After a months-long pause for the pandemic, daily trail and park admission passes are again being sold at all state park system properties as of today. While options vary by property, the passes will be sold either through electronic pay stations, self-registration stations or drive-up window service. Some electronic pay stations even allow a touchless transaction without the need to leave the vehicle.
Self-registration stations can be used at all properties, but visitors are asked to bring their own pen, have exact change and to use hand sanitizer after the purchase.
For those parks with drive-up windows, the Wisconsin DNR has installed plexiglass barriers and, while the building may be staffed, the buildings themselves will remain closed to the public.
The DNR also advised that park facilities such as towers, shelters, playgrounds, nature centers and concessions buildings will remain closed to the public.
