SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) – Eighteen Sheboygan County residents received positive test results for COVID-19 since Thursday, raising the active number to 113 and the total cases to 1,108. With 453 tests received in all, that yields a positive rate of just under 4%. Eight persons are currently hospitalized here for treatment, and 5 persons have recovered since Wednesday.
Each Thursday, the County Division of Public Health releases its weekly Facility-Wide Investigations report, and it showed 14 locations being examined. 6 of those are at long-term care facilities, and four of those were named: Pine Haven-Haven Drive Campus, Rocky Knoll, Sheboygan Health Services and Morningside Health Services. One investigations is being conducted at a group housing facility, 5 are being conducted at workplace settings, 1 educational facility is being investigated and 1 “other” setting is being examined through testing and contact tracing in hopes of stemming the outbreak.
Wisconsin added another 727 confirmed cases of the coronavirus to its total, now at 77,856 cases. With 9,178 tests received, the positive rate edged up to 7.9%, and the 7-day running total was moved to 8.4%. 4 more deaths were recorded, raising the toll to 1,146. 30 more persons entered hospital treatment for confirmed cases of COVID-19, putting the hospital population at 287. Another 150 persons are hospitalized awaiting test results. 391 persons require ventilators for support at this time.
