A 21-year-old rural Manitowoc woman has lost her life in a Thursday night vehicle accident.
The Manitowoc county Sheriff’s Office responded at 11:33 p.m. Thursday to the 6500 Block of Homestead Road in the Township of Manitowoc Rapids, where a caller reported that a single vehicle had crashed and was on fire.
Initial investigation reveals that a 2019 Ford Fusion was traveling eastbound on Homestead Road, northwest of the City of Manitowoc, when it left the roadway, entered the south ditch and struck a tree. Responding fire personnel extinguished the fire upon arrival, and the sole occupant was recovered and pronounced dead at the scene.
No further information was available at this time, as the incident remains under investigation.
