March is said to enter and exit as either a lion or a lamb. What we’re now facing more resembles a pig, as a cold, wet spring storm is forecast to move through the area over the next 24-36 hours.
A little under a tenth of an inch of rain had fallen at the airport by 5 a.m., but that’s a mere fraction of the 2-1/4 inches that’s expected between now and late Wednesday afternoon. Temperatures will be well above freezing for most of the event, with upper 40s possible today, sliding only slightly by noon on Wednesday. After that, falling temperatures and wet snowflakes may allow something under an inch of snow to gather before everything ends by midnight tomorrow.

Unless ice jams form, there’s plenty of room for the Sheboygan River to collect the runoff, as levels were more than 2-feet below flood stage on Tuesday morning, and no watches or advisories are in effect.
That being the case, the only flood-related trouble that’s likely to happen could be ponding on roadways, especially if there’s anything blocking a storm drain…something that’s worth checking before trouble occurs.
