A tip to the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office resulted in the arrest of an alleged drug trafficker on Friday night.
The Sheriff reports they relayed a tip that a vehicle had just traveled to the Milwaukee area to pick up illegal substances and was heading back northbound at about 8:30 Friday night. A deputy spotted that vehicle near Church Road, about 4 miles south of Fond du Lac and followed it into the city. When the driver failed to stop for a stop sign the Deputy attempted a stop, but the suspect fled north on I-41 instead, initiating a pursuit that covered nearly 18 miles, much of that on rims as the suspect ran across two tire deflation devices. A PIT maneuver was conducted once the vehicle exited 41 at Highway 26 in Winnebago County.
The vehicle was disabled in a ditch and the suspect, a 43-year-old Wild Rose man, was arrested without incident. He’s now facing felony charges of fleeing/eluding and second degree recklessly endangering safety.
