Sheboygan’s Harbor Centre Marina can again count itself as a “Wisconsin Clean Marina”. The recertification asserts that Harbor Centre meets federal and state pollution and safety laws, and has adopted best management practices that make Wisconsin’s waterways cleaner and safer for boaters to enjoy.
Since 1993, the Harbor Centre Marina has anchored Sheboygan’s public and guests to Lake Michigan access and, according to Marina Manager, Nicholas Warminsky, “…has long been a certified clean marina. It is crucial that we continue this tradition and maintain an environmentally friendly facility.”
The Wisconsin Clean Marina Program has certified 26 marinas across the state since its inception in 2010, and is administered by the U of W Sea Grant Program, in collaboration with the Wisconsin Marine Association, Wisconsin Coastal Management Program, Wisconsin DNR, and Fund for Lake Michigan.
