A person attempting to cross one of the Fond du Lac area’s busiest streets was struck and injured on Saturday. Multiple 911 calls came in at about 6 p.m. reporting that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle in the eastbound lanes of West Johnson Street in a busy commercial area near Rolling Meadows Drive in the Town of Fond du Lac.
Responding deputies found a 67-year-old Fond du Lac Man, seriously injured after being struck by an SUV being operated eastbound by a 23-year-old Fond du Lac man. The victim had been attempting to cross both eastbound lanes of traffic on foot when he was struck.
The SUV driver, who was not hurt, remained on the scene and is cooperating with investigators. The man who was struck was taken to ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah for treatment of serious injuries.
