Those dreaming of a White Christmas may have their dreams come true this year. Last year was a “Brown Christmas” for the most part with the real snow waiting until January. This year, though, forecasts are a bit brighter with a fair chance that we’ll have a few inches on the ground to add that sparkling touch to the holiday lights.
Snow may begin accumulating overnight, but only a half inch or less is expected from this first round. Still, a few slick spots could result by tomorrow morning. More substantial snow in the neighborhood of two inches…maybe three…begins on Thursday with daytime accumulations of less than an inch, and another inch or two leading up to Friday. Exact amounts aren’t certain, but Thursday afternoon and evening commuters could easily be affected.

After that there’s not much snow through Monday – the furthest detailed forecast we have. However, temperatures should remain cold enough to preserve whatever falls until then. And with Christmas Eve being the next day, Santa just might be running his sleigh on a blanket of white…which we think is just right.
