Thomas George Belot, loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend passed
away on Saturday, November 23 rd , 2024 at the age of 74. He was surrounded by his family.
Born on May 17, 1950, and raised in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, Tom was the son of the late Chester
and Laura Belot. Tom is survived by his cherished wife of fifty-one years, Diane, and their
beloved children, Michael (Katie) Belot of Mequon, WI and Erin (Jeremy) Ott of Sun Prairie, WI.
Tom adored spending time with his five grandchildren: Oliver, Theodore, and Caroline Belot;
Avery and Isabel Ott. Nothing brought him more joy than watching his grandchildren play
sports. He loved celebrating holidays with them, attending their birthday parties, and going on
family vacations. Summers were filled with swimming and boating at Pigeon Lake. The 4th of
July was always a special celebration.
Tom is further survived by his two brothers, Jerry (Mary Jane) Belot of Neenah, WI and Robert
(Randi) Belot of Belmont, CA. Tom was predeceased by his sister, Paula Kitz.
Tom achieved his bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh in
Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance.
After graduation, he began his career at Allis-Chalmers in Appleton, WI. In 1978, he accepted a
position at the Vollrath Company in Sheboygan, WI as Director of Management Systems. While
at Vollrath, Tom created a Business Healthcare Coalition to negotiate healthcare costs with
local providers and those throughout the State of Wisconsin that has represented over 25
percent of the population in Sheboygan County. In 2009, after 31 years at the company, he
retired as President and CEO.
Tom’s professional affiliations included membership on The Vollrath Company, LLC. Board of
Directors, WPS Health Insurance Board of Directors, membership on the Editorial Advisory
Board of FE&S Magazine and President of SEHN (Sheboygan Employer’s Health Network). He
also served on the Boards of Firstar-Sheboygan, EnzoPac Corporation, The U.S. Bank
Championship in Milwaukee (a PGA Tour event), General Housewares Corporation, and John
Michael Kohler Arts Center. He has been a guest lecturer at Marquette University and The
University of Wisconsin-Madison MBA Programs.
He was active in numerous community service organizations around the state. He was a
member of the Endowment Trust Board of the Sheboygan County YMCA, the Sheboygan
County Salvation Army Capital Campaign, President of the Sheboygan County United Way,
Chairman of the Sheboygan County YMCA, Chairman of the Walk for Juvenile Diabetes,
Chairman of the Sheboygan County United Way Campaign, and President of the Youth Theatre
Company. Tom was an ardent supporter of Big Brothers Big Sisters and his Church.
Tom loved to play golf, especially at his home club of Pine Hills where he cultivated many
friendships. He traveled all over the United States and internationally to play some of the best
golf courses including trips with his son to play Pebble Beach, Augusta National and their most
memorable, The Old Course. This past August in his first-round post treatment, he had his 3 rd
career hole-in-one at Pine Hills and was ecstatic.
Tom’s devotion to his family was foremost. He was also known for his kind heart, his humble
nature, and his willingness to help others. His wonderful sense of humor will be greatly missed.
The family extends their gratitude to The Sharon S. Richardson Hospice Center in Sheboygan
Falls for the compassionate care provided to Tom.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Friday, December 6 th from 11am-2pm at Saint
Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 8100 Brunner Rd. in Newton, WI 53063. A Memorial Mass
