Cold Weather is on Sheboygan’s doorstep, and those in need of protection have options for their safety. The Sheboygan County Warming Center operates at St. Luke United Methodist Church at 6th and Ontario Avenue. It’s a privately-funded facility that, according to its website, offers a safe, warm, low-barrier facility for adults who find themselves without overnight shelter, and provides support and pathways to independence.
After a mild Monday, windchills are projected to reach near 10 above tonight, eventually plunging to near zero over the coming weekend, conditions that are life-threatening without proper shelter.
The Warming Center is welcoming clients, as well as donations of foods, self-care items, bedding and more. Those in need of shelter or that are able to donate can visit their facebook page for more information.
