Edward John Mindock of Sheboygan, WI, entered his eternal rest in heaven on
November 20, 2024.
Ed was born in Milwaukee, WI on February 11,1936, to John and Edna (Schultz)
Mindock. He was baptized as an infant and confirmed as a youth at Siloah Lutheran
Church where he attended elementary school. He graduated from Rufus King High
School of Milwaukee in 1954. After graduation, Ed enlisted in the US Army and served
in West Germany from July 1954-1957 as a machinist and as a gate guard. His
highlight was time spent on leave traveling throughout Europe, meeting people,
photographing his travels, funding these travels by selling his razor blades and anything
else he could find. It was in the army he discovered his love of photography. Upon his
return to the US, he enrolled in a Milwaukee area photography school to learn his craft.
A good friend convinced Ed to go to a YMCA dance one Friday night. There he met his
future wife Barbara and they were married on March 3, 1962. Ed and Barb moved to
Sheboygan where he began a life-long career working as a photographer at Kohler
Company. They built a home and a family in Sheboygan and enjoyed the great
Christian friendships at their church.
Ed enjoyed time outdoors. Archery, fishing, and rock collecting were his favorites. He
enjoyed attending rock concerts, world travels with Barb, and volunteering. Through his
camera lens, he captured those memories and so many more of church, school, and
family celebrations.
Ed is survived by his wife Barbara; son Mark (Karie) of Kaukauna, WI; son Alan
(Kristen) of North Hills, CA; son David of Sheboygan; daughter Alane (Mark)
Kaesmeyer of Coon Rapids, MN; his grandchildren Maralee, Jared, Alexander, Clara,
Ethan, Emmalee, Aubrey, Austin, Jacob, and Kalyn.
He was welcomed home to heaven with open arms by his Savior, Jesus, his parents,
his three brothers Raymond, Harvey, and John Mindock, and sister-in-law Bette
Mindock.
A funeral service will be held November 23, 2024 at 11:30am at Calvary Lutheran
Church in Sheboygan. A private entombment service will be held at Greenlawn
Memorial Park in Kohler, WI, on November 25, 2024.
The family extends gratitude to the staff of Sheboygan Health Services who lovingly
provided care for Ed during the last 21 months, and the compassionate staff of Allay
Hospice service.
In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be given in loving memory of Ed to support
Manitowoc Lutheran High School.
