Sheboygan County crews had extra work to do overnight as high winds downed several trees, requiring the clearing of roadways. Scattered power outages were also reported as a result.
Winds began gusting over 30 mph by 11 p.m., and were sustained over 20 mph by midnight. Gusts eventually reached near 40 mph with one report of 42 mph received near 5 a.m.
There was some good news in that much-needed rainfall of around a half inch fell on the area, and temperatures hovered near 50 degrees – as opposed to the usual overnight lows in the mid-upper 20s.
