Sheboygan received high marks for livability in a new study published by WalletHub, an award-winning personal finance company geared toward empowering consumers to live financially-healthy lives.
The list of the “Best Small Cities in America (2024) places Sheboygan in the 83rd percentile, and that’s out of a total of 1,318 cities with populations between 25 and 100 thousand. The cities were rated on affordability, economic health, education and health, quality of life, and safety.
Sheboygan ranked 358th in affordability, its economic health was 208th best, education and health ranked as the 165th best, quality of life came in at 302, and its safety ranked as the 662nd-best.
Aside from Sheboygan’s 83rd percentile ranking, Wisconsin cities scoring better included Oshkosh, Stevens Point and Wausau in the 87th percentile, Eau Claire in the 89th, Fitchburg and West Bend ranking in the 92nd, Neenah and Sun Prairie ranked in the 93rd, New Berlin 94th, Waukesha 96th, Menomonee Falls in the 97th, while Appleton, and Brookfield – which had the second-best overall score in the nation – ranked in the 99th and highest percentile.
Manitowoc made the list in the 79th percentile, and Fond du Lac ranked in the 67th percentile.
