Numerous fire departments, including several from Sheboygan County, responded to a fire that struck a home near Mt. Calvary early Tuesday morning.
The fire on Draeger lane was reported around 2:30am. Crews arrived to flames reaching nearly 50 feet in the air, with strong winds spreading the fire from one building to another.
25 tenders and some 10 engines were summoned to control the situation, including departments from Plymouth, Cascade, Kiel, Campbellsport, Eden, Black Wolf, Waupun, Kewaskum, the Town of Calumet and St. Cloud.
It took firefighters an hour and a half to bring the blaze under control. Nobody was hurt in the operation, and the owners of the home were in Door County when the fire started. The cause is under investigation.
