Following publication of a story claiming that Walgreens would be closing Sheboygan County stores, WHBL News received communications from the company pointing out several errors.
First, the company is planning to close 1,200 stores nationwide, however determinations have not been made to close any Sheboygan locations. 500 stores across the nation will be closed during the current fiscal year. Walgreens operates 200 stores in Wisconsin. The number of closures, if any, was not indicated. A list supplied to WHBL News did indicate locations in Sheboygan County, as well as the rest of Wisconsin, but did not necessarily involve store closings, as was suggested.
A spokesperson for Walgreens said that they did not want their clients to be concerned, and that Walgreens will continue to operate their Sheboygan County locations.
We regret the errors.
