Melissa Mattfield-Cole, 42, of Chilton, passed away on Monday, September 30th, 2024,
with her family by her side, following a valiant battle with cancer at Froedtert Hospital in
Milwaukee. She was born December 2nd, 1981, to Jeffrey and Deborah (Mattfield) Cole
in Sheboygan. Melissa graduated from Sheboygan South High School with the Class of
2000. She went on to Lakeshore Technical College and earned her LPN and then
completed her degree and became an RN.
Melissa will be remembered for her infectious smile. She was hardworking and always
motivated to achieve great things, always supportive and selfless, always there to cheer
on her family and friends and encouraged them to achieve their goals. Having a heart of
gold and a compassionate soul, Melissa was always there for anyone who needed help.
Her passion was caring for others, especially the elderly, which is why she chose the
nursing profession. Melissa loved to shop, and she loved to spend time with her family
and friends. Melissa’s family was her pride and joy. She cherished all the memories
she created with and for her children.
Melissa is survived by her parents Jeff and Deb Cole, fiancé Leif Ehlert, children; Austin
(Kate), Anthony, Abigail, Ashton, Addison, Alayna, Annika, Alex and Archer, brother
Jeffery (Cassie) Cole, nephew Jeffery James Cole, paternal grandmother Emily (Darrell)
Wilke, special friend Tamra, and she has a grandson and a granddaughter on the way.
Melissa is further survived by many aunts, uncles, great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins,
other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her paternal
grandfather Tommie Cole, maternal grandmother Susan Kastellic, maternal grandfather
Roger Mattfield, brother Eric James and sister Angela Nicole.
A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 12th, 2024, at 11:00AM at
Reinbold Novak Funeral Home, 1535 S. 12 th St., with Fr. Paul Fliss officiating. The
Nightingale Tribute Ceremony will be held just prior to the service starting. Relatives
and friends may visit with the family on Saturday, October 12th, 2024, from 10:00AM
until the time of service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Melissa’s family for the development of a
scholarship at LTC for the nursing program in Melissa’s name.
The family would like to thank Dr. Matthews and his staff, Dr. Thompson and the nurses
at Froedtert Hospital for all their care, compassion and support.

As much as this took me be heart I would like to send my condolences to the family she will be missed by me not being able to talk to her watch her do her flowers or just to talk to she was the best neighbor I could have asked for I just pray that she’s resting peacefully and that God is by her side as well as the family’s she was to young to be taken my heart is at a point were I look out my window and not see her outside is breaking me I will miss her💞
