Voting is complete in the most recent round of “The Coolest Thing Made in Wisconsin” competition, presented by Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce and the Johnson Financial Group. The annual contest puts state manufacturers into a bracket-style tournament to determine the winner.
The top-16 were whittled down to 8, with those contestants announced on Wednesday afternoon. Plymouth’s Carbliss brand of canned cocktails did not survive the cut, but another area beverage, Jolly Good Soda of Random Lake, did. While #3 seed Carbliss was upset by the #14 seed, Minocqua Popcorn and Puffs, Jolly Good Soda by Krier Foods of Random Lake, the #13 seed, survived its match-up against the #4 seed, American Heritage’s 6” Tobacco Safety Toe Work Boot by Thorogood of Merrill. Jolly Good now faces #9 seed, Production Grinding & Machining of Monroe, entered for its Custom Built Metal Benches.
The winners will compete in match-ups to determine the Top 4. Voting in that round is open from 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 3rd until 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, the 8th. Those four products will compete in one final popular vote round to determine the ultimate winner, which will be announced at WMC’s Business Day event in Madison on October 17th. Votes can be cast once per day, per device at www.madeinwis.com.
