A child exploitation case that stretched across multiple jurisdictions in Wisconsin concluded in federal court with a lengthy stay in federal prison. That sentence was imposed on Monday by US District Judge William Griesbach on 41-year-old David Fuchs, formerly of Janesville.
The case centered on phone conversations Fuchs had with what he believed to be a 12-year-old girl. During numerous conversations, Fuchs, already a registered sex offender from previous convictions, described his intentions to sexually educate the girl, sent multiple explicit pictures of himself, and arranged to meet the girl at a travel plaza near Madison. He arrived there on March 15th and was met by US Marshals and arrested.
Further investigation revealed Fuchs’ offer to pay $100 to have sex with a 7-year-old girl, and also had conversations with officers from the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office, the Madison Police Department, and the Fox Valley Metro Police Department who supplied the actors posing as girls. He’ll now spend the next 25 years in federal prison.
