Margaret L. Marotz, 96, passed away peacefully Monday morning, September 30, 2024 at Sheboygan Senior Community.
Margaret was born November 29, 1927 on the Hubbard farm near Oshkosh to Fred and Lydia (Zarling) Priebe. She attended grade school in Waushara County, and graduated from Wautoma High School in 1945. She went on to work in Oshkosh at the Wisconsin National Insurance Company. On October 4, 1947, she was united in marriage with Walter Marotz at the Lutheran Church in Wautoma. The couple lived in Neshkoro for several years, before moving to Sheboygan Falls in the late 1950’s.
For 25 years, Margaret drove school bus for Heidenreiter Bus. After retirement, she volunteered for 12 years in the Foster Grandparent program. She was a member at Calvary Lutheran Church, where she was the contact person for the Central Africa Medical Mission for over 30 years. She enjoyed the Wednesday morning bible study at Calvary Church, and helping in the food pantry.
Margaret had fun watching the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers and Wisconsin Badgers. She enjoyed working in the garden, and always had time for playing cards.
Margaret is survived by her children: Steven (Diane) Marotz of Kohler, Susan (Alan) Wentz of Sheboygan Falls, William (Sandra) Marotz of Green Bay, Beth (W. Thomas) Jens of Sheboygan Falls and Jane Marotz of Sheboygan Falls; grandchildren: Ben (Abby) Marotz, Peter (Lorraine) Marotz, Rebecca Grant, Matthew (Ariel) Marotz, Joseph (Mila) Jens and Ann Jens; step-grandchildren: Johannah Beckmann (Clayton), Katie (Tim) Popp and Jennifer (Ryan) Prigge; 14 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, four brothers and three sisters.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, October 4, 2024 at Calvary Lutheran Church, 2132 N. 27th St in Sheboygan. Pastor Voigt will officiate. The family will receive visitors at the church on Friday from 9:00-11:00AM. She will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Calvary Lutheran Church or Maywood Environmental Park.
