MILWAUKEE, WI (WHBL) – The St. Louis Cardinals outlasted the Milwaukee Brewers 7-4 in an extra-innings thriller from American Family Field on Tuesday night.
Michael Siani drove in a pair of runs with a single and Alec Burleson hit a sacrifice fly as part of a three-run top of the 12th.
Paul Goldschmidt slugged a solo shot and finished with three RBI for the Cardinals while Ryan Helsley earned the win after giving up an unearned run over the final two frames.
Elvis Peguero got the loss after giving up all three runs, one earned, in relief.
Jackson Chourio crushed a two-run homer as Milwaukee remains first in the NL Central at 81-58.
The rubber match of this three-game series will take place Wednesday night with pregame coverage on WHBL beginning at 6:05.
