A Plymouth man lost his life when he pulled into the path of a semi truck in rural southwestern Sheboygan County on Tuesday. Reports from the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office indicate that the 79-year-old had stopped his 2015 Mustang at the intersection with County Highway “A” while traveling eastbound on County Highway “U” shortly after 1:30 Tuesday afternoon. He then pulled out in front of a southbound semi hauling 5,500 gallons of liquid manure. The 38-year-old operator of that truck from Plymouth was unable to avoid a collision and struck the car, killing that driver and suffering serious injuries himself.
The semi operator was transported via Flight for Life to Froedtert in Milwaukee where his current condition is unknown. The Wisconsin State Patrol is handling accident reconstruction.
After having notified the next of kin, the victim was identified as 79-year-old William P. Buelter of Plymouth. The driver of the semi has not yet been identified.
