MILWAUKEE, WI (WHBL) – The Milwaukee Brewers fell to the Los Angeles Dodgers 5-2 in their series opener from American Family Field on Monday night.
Freddy Peralta got the loss after giving up four runs on five hits over six innings.
William Contreras provided all of the offense for the Brewers with a two-run homer in the sixth inning. Milwaukee has dropped back-to-back games but remains first in the NL Central at 67-51.
Mookie Betts led the Dodgers, going 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs in his first game action since fracturing his hand on June 16th.
Shohei Ohtani also had a strong day at the plate, hitting his 36th homer of the year and finishing with two RBIs and a pair of runs scored.
Clayton Kershaw earned his first win of the year, while Daniel Hudson notched his ninth save.
Game two of the four game series is set for Tuesday night with pregame coverage on WHBL beginning at 6:35.
