It’ll be six years in prison for a Sheboygan woman accused of neglecting her 10-year-daughter and dumping her dog in a ditch. Dawn Astudillo appeared before Judge Rebecca Persick on Wednesday and entered a no-contest plea to a charge of causing mental harm to a child.
Investigators say her daughter was malnourished, with doctors saying the child hadn’t gained weight in 3 years. Before sentencing, Judge Persick called Astudillo abusive, dishonest, and manipulative, which makes her a danger to the community. Once she completes her prison sentence, Astudillo will spend another five years on extended supervision.
