A suspect trying to avoid capture failed after crashing the vehicle he was driving into a guardrail and was arrested. The Washington County Sheriff said that West Bend Police began chasing a vehicle involved in retail theft at about 11 Tuesday night, heading northbound on Highway 45 toward the Village of Kewaskum. The chase headed west on Badger Road and then south on Kettleview Drive where the vehicle crashed into a guardrail and came to rest in a yard on Edelweiss Lane in the Town of Barton.
After the crash a female passenger was arrested by West Bend Police while the driver fled on foot. Sheriff’s Deputies used a drone to locate the driver, who had reportedly stopped at several homes, attempting to either enter them or attract the attention of the occupants. The 21-year-old Milwaukee man was safely apprehended and taken into custody by Kewaskum Police at around 12:15 p.m.
