Terese Mary Kempfer, 84, of Sheboygan, passed away Saturday, July 27, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family.
Born October 6, 1939, in Algoma, WI, Terese was the only daughter of Melvin and Ursula Hunsader Cmeyla. She graduated from Pius XI Catholic High School in Milwaukee. She was then united in marriage to James R. Kempfer.
Terese owned and operated Terese’s Bar on Michigan Avenue for many years. She also bartended at Nino’s and Richard’s. She loved bar tending and the many friendships she made over the years. In her later years, she especially enjoyed spending time with her family and her friends at Shuffs.
She is survived by her two daughters, Jill (Glen Fredricks) Drews, Sheboygan Falls, and Jocelyn Acompanado, Plymouth; her four grandchildren, Dr. Jennifer (Austen Scheumann) Drews, Hudson, WI, Benjamin (Emily) Drews, Cleveland, Amelia (Andrew) Szymanek, Tinley Park, IL, and Elyse Acompanado, Dubuque, IA; three great grandchildren, Rosalie Drews, Elliot Drews, and Luccia Szymanek; her brothers, Chuck (Susan) Cmeyla, Elm Grove, and Andy (Kristin) Cmeyla, Hubertus; sisters-in-law, Joanne Cmeyla, Gloria Cmeyla, and Yolanda Cmeyla; family friend, JR Burnett; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Michael, Joseph, and Gary Cmeyla.
A Celebration of Life is being planned for a later date.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for all of their loving care and support.
The Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service has been entrusted with Terese’s arrangements.
