William Arno “Bill” Schultz, Jr., of the Town of Lyndon, passed away at the age of 96 on
Thursday, July 25, 2024, at the Aurora Medical Center Sheboygan County.
Bill was born on October 9, 1927, in the Town of Lyndon, a son of the late William Sr. and
Amanda (Naumann) Schultz. As an infant he moved to his present home where he lived,
farmed, and raised his family. Many holidays and family gatherings were held with him on “the
farm.” On April 22, 1950, he was united in marriage to Alice John at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church
in Cascade. They had celebrated 59 years of marriage at the time of her passing in 2009.
As a child, he attended Roosevelt School. Bill was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s Lutheran
Church in Cascade where he was baptized, confirmed, and married.
Dairy farming was Bill’s life. He took over the family farm and eventually passed it on to his
children, but continued working on it as long as he was able. He enjoyed hunting deer, turkeys,
fox, and coyotes with family and friends. His garden kept him busy for countless hours,
especially caring for his hundreds of potato plants in his later years. He exhibited his vegetables
at the Sheboygan County Fair where he always aimed to have the largest potato, a goal he was
able to achieve several times. He liked watching his grandkids exhibit cattle through 4-H and the
futurity show that family members often participated in during the fair. He also enjoyed dancing
and tapping his toes to polka music.
Bill is survived by his children: William Schultz III (Yvonne Preder) of Waldo; Cathy (Steve)
Helmer of Plymouth; Debra (Robert) Huibregtse of Plymouth; Ronald (Mary Jo) Schultz of
