A new retailer is set to open their doors in Sheboygan this Saturday. Michaels, which operates over 1,290 stores in 49 states and Canada – as well as online – is opening in Memorial Plaza with a ribbon-cutting ceremony featuring Sheboygan Mayor Ryan Sorenson manning the scissors at 9 a.m., launching activities that are slated to run until 2 p.m. Some of those activities include free crafts, jewelry and art vendors, cookie and bead-making stations, giveaways and more.
Michaels describes itself as “the leading creative destination in North America”, and will feature simpler self-checkout registers, a custom framing center, and a curated assortment of arts, crafts, framing, floral, scrapbooking and other supplies. Several more new stores featuring the new, sleeker design with a “Buy Online Pick-Up In Store” format – with curbside pickup options – are being planned in the future.
