MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WRN) — UW – Madison police warn about a scam targeting incoming freshmen.
It advertises tickets to a night party called “Wisco FreshMan Invasion” supposedly taking place around the time of move-in and orientation for incoming freshmen.
The address listed on the flyer is that of the Wisconsin School of Business.
Any back to school events sponsored by UW – Madison will be marketed to current students, and will come from specific departments like Residence Life, the Multicultural Student Center, or Student Affairs.
UWPD asks parents to share the warning with their students and cautions they shouldn’t buy tickets from an unknown source.
