Calling it “a critical step in our pledge to reduce environmental and climate impacts”, Aurora Medical Center – Sheboygan County is covering its roof with solar panels.
Aurora is installing 300 roof-mount panels to reduce utility energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions, and is the second of two phases at the institution. When completed by the end of this year, 520 panels will be supplying power to the building.
Aurora – Sheboygan County President, Aric Kinney, said that they are committed to increasing sustainability and conserving natural resources as part of their larger commitment to helping people live well. Not only will the project achieve environmental gains, but also redirect money otherwise spent on utility expenses toward the primary mission of providing exceptional patient care. Kinney added that “Personal health is connected to environmental health, and that’s why we’re committed to supporting personal wellness and preserving a healthy environment for our patients, team members and the communities we’re privileged to serve.”
