MILWAUKEE, WI (WHBL) – The Milwaukee Brewers bounced back from Tuesday night’s blowout loss and shut out the Pittsburgh Pirates 9-0 at American Family Field on Wednesday night.
Tobias Myers got the win after giving up just four hits and one walk while striking out six batters over eight innings.
Willy Adames blasted a three-run homer, while Rhys Hoskins also went deep. Milwaukee has a five and a half game lead over the St. Louis Cardinals in the NL Central at 54-39.
For Pittsburgh, Martin Perez got the loss after giving up five runs on nine hits over four-and-two-thirds innings. Rowdy Tellez laced a double for one of Pittsburgh’s four hits in the game.
The rubber match of the three-game series will take place Thursday afternoon with pregame coverage on WHBL beginning at 12:35.
