MILWAUKEE, WI (WHBL) – The Milwaukee Brewers got blown out by the Pittsburgh Pirates Tuesday night 12-2 in game-one of a three game series at American Family Field.
Colin Rea got the loss after giving up seven runs on six hits over five innings.
William Contreras and Blake Perkins each drove in runs as Milwaukee has now lost four of its last five games.
Joey Bart smashed a grand slam for the Pirates, while Jack Suwinski, Rowdy Tellez, Joshua Palacios and Bryan Reynolds also homered.
Quinn Priester got the win after giving up one earned run on four hits over six innings. Pittsburgh is in third place in the NL Central at 44-47.
Milwaukee is still first in the NL Central at 53-39 but have just a four-game lead now over second-place St. Louis.
The Brewers and Pirates will square off again Wednesday night with pregame coverage on WHBL beginning at 6:35.
