
Ruben Arvin Rabe Jr., 78, of Plymouth, WI, unexpectedly passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2024 at his
home.
He was born on April 20, 1946 in Chilton, WI, to the late Ruben and Anna (Kuehl) Rabe.
Ruben graduated from New Holstein High School in 1964 and shortly after graduation was employed at
the Aluminum Specialty Company in Chilton. On April 22, 1967 he married the love of his life, the
recently deceased Mary (Stecker) Rabe at Potter Peace United Church. After a brief honeymoon period,
Ruben answered the governments call to duty, proudly serving the United States Army, stationed in Bien
Hoa, Vietnam. Being fortunate to return home from the war, he settled into a new life with his wife and
first born child and also returned to work at the Aluminum Specialty Company.
Ruben was a 16 year member of the American Legion Post 243 in Plymouth. He was a religious man with
a gentle soul, who loved his family dearly and had a special love for his dogs. In his younger years he
enjoyed fishing and hunting, and his second home, which was on the family farm of his uncles Hans and
Hilton Kuehl. He was a very enthusiastic fan of the Packers and Badger football games, as well as,
watching WWE wrestling. In more recent times, he enjoyed doing computer puzzles and word searches
and spending time with family.
Survivors include his three children, Todd, Kevin and Tina Rabe; two grandchildren, Meghan and Katelyn
Rabe; soon to be daughter-in-law, Sara Brunet fiancée of Kevin and children, Brayden, Madilynn, and
Sullaven; Tina’s special friend, John Judd; two sisters, Geraldine Kuester, Rachel (Robert) Schwark; six
sisters-in-law, Carol Luniak, Colleen (Tom) Farrell, Corrine (Richard) Schuessler, Romaine (Gordy)
Bruggink, Stella Stecker, and Anne Stecker.
Survivors also include many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Mary Rabe; his parents, Ruben Sr. and Anna Rabe;
daughter-in-law, Donna Rabe (Todd’s wife); and five brothers-in-law, Merlin Kuester, Tom, Robert, and
Richard Stecker, and Paul Luniak.
Following Ruben’s wishes, there will be no services, however a celebration of life party is planned for a
future date at which a prayer service will be conducted and Military Rites provided by the American
Legion Post 243.
