Dennis passed away peacefully on July 7, 2024 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin with his three children by his
side.
Dennis LeRoy Ohl was born February 5, 1955 in Oelwein, Iowa, the son of LeRoy Albert and Myrna Laura
(Cree) Ohl. He graduated from Oelwein Community High School in 1973, from Simpson College in 1977
with a BA in History and Political Science, and from the University of Iowa College of Law in 1980. His
banking career as a Trust Officer began in Iowa in 1982 and ended in Sheboygan, Wisconsin in 2014
upon his retirement.
Dennis was very active in the Sheboygan community volunteering his time to several charities including
Meals on Wheels where he served as the president, the council and Endowment Committee of First
United Lutheran Church, the board of the Sheboygan Senior Community, the Weill Center for
Performing Arts, and the Visiting Nurses Association among many others. He enjoyed reading various
genres of books, researching his family genealogy, attending Packers football games with his family
where he was a Packers Shareholder, scouring eBay for antiques, enjoying nice meals and wine,
attending theater and cultural events, traveling and vacationing with his children and grandchildren, and
spoiling his grandchildren with frequent shopping sprees. Dennis was a devoted son, father, and
grandfather and often expressed his wish to “fill up an entire pew at church” with his family, which he
lived to see happen on recent Christmas Eve services. Dennis spent his last year at the Sheboygan Senior
Community where he received exceptional care and his family felt fully supported throughout.
Dennis is survived by his three children, daughter Katy (Jared) Wiegand, son Dan (Danielle) Ohl, and
daughter Libby (Mike) Kuper. He is further survived by his grandchildren, Bella Wiegand, Lucas Wiegand,
and Ryan Kuper.
Dennis is preceded in death by his parents, LeRoy and Myrna Ohl, and his brother Michael Ohl.
The family would like to express their utmost appreciation and gratitude to the many wonderful nurses
