MILWAUKEE, WI (WHBL) – Brice Turang hit a fourth-inning grand slam to lead the Milwaukee Brewers over the Chicago Cubs, 7-1, in their series finale on Sunday afternoon at American Family Field
Turang’s sixth homer of the season was Milwaukee’s fifth grand slam in the past eight games. Christian Yelich also went deep on a two-run blast in the fourth as the Crew took two of three from the Cubs in their weekend series.
Freddy Peralta earned the win after striking out eight and allowing one run through seven frames.
The Brewers have won six of seven and sit atop the NL Central at 50-34.
Nico Hoerner homered for Chicago in the setback. Kyle Hendricks was charged with the loss after letting up seven runs.
The Cubs have lost two of three and sit at the bottom of the division at 39-46.
The Brewers will now begin a seven-game road trip beginning with a four-game series in Colorado against the Rockies. Game one is Monday night with pregame coverage on WHBL beginning at 7:05.
