MILWAUKEE, WI (WHBL) – Andruw Monasterio hit a walk-off RBI-single in the bottom of the 10th inning to lift the Milwaukee Brewers past the Texas Rangers 6-5 at American Family Field on Wednesday afternoon and sweeping the Rangers in the process.
Jake Bauers belted a grand slam and Jackson Chourio had an inside-the-park homer for the Crew, who have won four straight overall.
Christian Yelich had three singles and stole the 200th base of his career.
Dallas Keuchel, the 2015 AL Cy Young Award winner, was acquired from Seattle on Monday by the Brewers and made his debut Wednesday, allowing five runs, eight hits and a walk over four innings. The 36-year-old left-hander became Milwaukee’s big league-high 14th starting pitcher this season.
For Texas, Nathaniel Lowe was 2-for-5 with a home run and three RBIs. Jonah Heim also had two hits and a home run in the setback. Jacob Latz was charged with the loss and dropped to 2-3 after allowing the game-winning run in the bottom of the 10th.
The Brewers have Thursday off, then welcome the Chicago Cubs to American Family Field for a three-game weekend series beginning on Friday night.
