Sheboygan County home prices went up, but the number of homes sold dropped compared to last year according to the latest report from the Wisconsin Realtors Association.
The info released on Thursday morning reflects data for the month of May, which the Association says represents the traditional beginning of peak sales. But Sheboygan County – along with Ozaukee and Kenosha – bucked the trend of rising sales within the Southeast region which saw an overall gain of 4.4% in sales numbers. Sheboygan County, on the other hand, saw a 14.4% drop with 101 units sold, compared with 118 last year. The greatest growth in the region year-over-year was Washington County’s 17.3% gain.
The May median home price in Sheboygan County was up 7.7% over last year, rising to $260,000. Regionally the prices were up 10%. Inventory here rose 19.2% over last year with a 3.1 month supply of homes for sale, close to the regional average. The average number of days on the market in Sheboygan County in May was 50 days, down from 62 days last year, or a 19.4% drop.
