(Milwaukee, WI) — The acting police chief in Milwaukee is now sworn into office. Former assistant chief Michael Brunson took the oath of office Friday. He replaces Alfonso Morales, who was demoted to Captain Thursday night by the city’s fire and police commission. The commission was dissatisfied with Morales’ leadership during the recent rioting and protests.
Brunson says his main goals are to improve the department’s relationship with the community and to reduce violent crimes.
