HANOI (Reuters) – The Communist Party of Vietnam has nominated police minister To Lam to be state president, the government said on Saturday.
The party has also nominated Tran Thanh Man, vice chairman of the National Assembly, as the assembly chairman, the government said in a statement on its website.
The National Assembly is expected to officially ratify the nominations during its month-long meeting starting on Monday.
