While severe weather isn’t likely in the Sheboygan area today, there’s at least some possibility that it could occur, but that depends on several variables. Forecasters with the National Weather Service in Milwaukee say there’s a 1-in-5, or “marginal”, risk of severe weather this afternoon, with hail and gusty winds the main threat, although a weak tornado wasn’t being ruled out. Most likely, though, will be the chance of abundant rainfall of between three-quarters and one inch. But much depends upon what happens before that…specifically, how much sun manages to break through during midday. The more sun – the better the chances of heavy thunderstorms later on.
For now, expect a dying line of storms this morning, possible clearing during the midday, and redevelopment this afternoon. Any storms that do occur will likely be affecting the Sheboygan area between 2 and 8 p.m., setting the stage for a quiet night and a mostly sunny Wednesday with highs in the 60s.
