MILWAUKEE, WI (WHBL) – The Milwaukee Brewers fell to the San Diego Padres 7-3 in the series opener from American Family Field on Monday night.
The Brewers jumped out to a 3-0 lead, but San Diego scored seven unanswered runs in the fourth and fifth innings. The Crew had the bases loaded in the ninth inning, but couldn’t capitalize.
Jackson Chourio belted a two-run homer and Willy Adames also drove in a run for Milwaukee. Joe Ross got the loss after giving up six earned runs in nearly five innings.
Jackson Merrill led the way for San Diego, going 3 for 5 and driving in two runs during a six-run fifth inning.
Game two of the series is set for Tuesday night with pregame on WHBL beginning at 6:05.
