Barbara Ann (Schwanke) Raml, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend sadly passed away on April 8 th ,
2024 at the age of 74. Born on January 15 th , 1950 to Marvin and Ann Schwanke, Barb brought a beautiful
light to this world. She was married to Daniel Raml in 1970 and together they created a life and family
they were immensely proud of. Barb set about raising her daughters Jody (Chad) Solberg and Vicky (Jeff)
Glider with unwavering love, support, and her ever present wit and good humor. Barb’s kindness and
love was spread to her granddaughters, Hayley and Melanie. She was always there; helping and
watching them grow into two wonderful young women. She also had a special place in her heart for her
step-grandson, Braydon.
Barb was the type of person who truly was interested in how you were doing. She listened. She was the
type of person who told those she loved how much she loved them. She never left a phone call or a
family gathering or a tuck into bed go without those three little words, “I love you.” And what’s more –
she meant them.
Barb worked hard for many years at Thomas Industries in Sheboygan, but she also loved to play. Her and
Dan traveled and spent the long cold Wisconsin winters in Texas. Barb loved to be warm. They were avid
golfers and campers – making many friends and memories through those activities. Barb was also a
gambler. She took monthly casino trips with her daughter, played Bingo, and single handedly kept the
WI Gaming Commission in business with her love of scratch-offs. Barb loved music and listening to the
“oldies”. She filled the house with music and instilled in her daughters and granddaughters a deep
respect for the good old days of music. Very dear to her heart were her animal companions – her dogs
Abby and Chloe and her cat Squeaks. All the animals knew she was the person to go to for treats, table
scraps, and belly scratches. Barb also enjoyed cheering on the Packers, Brewers, Badgers, and Bucks –
but boy did she let them have it when they lost.
Barb is loved and survived by her above mentioned daughters, son-in-laws, and grandchildren. She will
be missed by her cousin Jenny Rogers, in-laws Diane and Steve Krepsky, Debbie and Mike Bartzen, and
Dennis Raml. Aunt Barb also has numerous nieces and a nephew who will remember her smile, good
humor, dry wit, and warm heart.
Barb was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dan. Barb had a strong belief in angels and in
Heaven. She knew Dan would be there waiting for her. We know that they are together again watching
over us, rooting for us, and loving us.
A visitation will be held for Barb on Wednesday, April 17 th , 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at
Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home, 1535 S. 12th Street in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. A memorial service will
follow from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. with a family/friend luncheon served at Riverdale Country Club.
Any/all donations in her memory will be split evenly between St. Jude’s and the Humane Society – two
of Barb’s favorite causes.
