It’s been quite the wild weather ride over the past day in Sheboygan County. The temperature at the Sheboygan County Memorial Airport, where the National Weather Service collects its official data, reached 70 degrees shortly before 2 p.m. on Tuesday, 36 degrees above normal and a new record high for the day and for the month of February overall. But in a pattern that’s becoming all-too familiar over the last few weeks, a plunge back into winter created a hair-raising 53 degree temperature drop to 17 degrees by 6 a.m. this Wednesday morning, with several hours still to go in a possible record-setting drop.
Slippery conditions from the flash-freeze and light snow are likely to linger as sub-freezing temperatures are expected until Thursday when a rebound to 40 degrees is forecast.
